    Ye Zhizhen was born on April 7, 1955, from Cangnan, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, expert of semiconductor optoelectronic thin film materials.

 

    Prof.Ye received his Ph. D in Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University(ZJU),China in 1987, then Joined in Dept. of Materials Sci & Eng at ZJU. He is interested in preparing semiconductor thin films and applications in photoelectric devices. During 1990-1992, Prof.Ye worked in silicon epitaxial growth by low temperature chemical vapor deposition at MIT as a visiting scholar. Prof.Ye was promoted a professor at ZJU in 1994. In 2005, Prof.Ye was selected as the first batch of Zhejiang University Qiushi Distinguished Professors, and in 2008 he was named Zhejiang Special Expert. Prof.Ye used to be the director of the State Key Laboratory of Silicon Materials, the deputy dean of the School of Materials and Chemical Engineering, and the director of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Zhejiang University. Prof.Ye is currently the director of the Academic Committee of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University. Pror.Ye was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2019.  
 
    Prof.Ye works on deposition of ZnO thin films and p type doping and fabrication of LED and application of transparent conducting coating in solar cell.  Prof.Ye has published more than 500 papers and get 100 patents.   
 
   Prof.Ye pioneered the research direction of semiconductor thin film in Zhejiang University, pioneered ultra-high vacuum CVD technology and promoted its application throughout the country. In 1986, he pioneered the domestic semiconductor ZnO thin film doping research and established the principle and technology of p-type binary co-doped ZnO. The ZnO-LED prototype device is made by MOCVD method and realizes room temperature electroluminescence for the first time in the word. Prof.Ye developed n-type zinc oxide high-conductivity doping technology, broke through the problem of indium-free transparent conductive film, and realized industrial application. In addition, innovations have been made in the controllable preparation of low-dimensional ZnO materials, ultraviolet detection, sensor devices, and new ZnO thin film transistors. Prof.Ye is the main academic leader in the field of international optoelectronic zinc oxide and has made outstanding contributions to the development of my country's inorganic optoelectronic materials.    
 
    Prof.Ye successively undertook the national "973" project and key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. A total of more than 600 academic papers have been published, and SCI has cited more than 13,000 times (H=63). Prof.Ye has been selected as Elsevier's "Highly Cited Scholar in China" for 6 consecutive years, and has authorized more than 100 invention patents, some of which have been transferred. Prof. Ye has won more than 10 science and technology awards, including 1 second-class National Natural Science Award and 4 first-class Provincial Science and Technology Awards. 
 
    In 1994, Prof.Ye was selected as the National Advanced Worker of the State Key Laboratory and won the "Golden Bull Award". In 1996, he was selected as the "Cross-century Outstanding Talent" of the Ministry of Education. In 1997, Prof.Ye was selected as the National "Hundred, Thousand, Thousand Talents Project".In 2007, Prof.Ye was selected as the young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contribution in Zhejiang Province In 2008, Prof.Ye was selected as Outstanding Talent of Zhejiang Province. In 2008 and 2010, Prof.Ye was nominated for the award of "China's 100 Excellent Doctoral Dissertations" as his supervisor. In 2012, Prof.Ye was rated as " Three Educations" advanced individual and school pacesetter of Zhejiang Province. In 2013, Prof.Ye was rated as Advanced Individual of Teacher Ethics. In 2014, Prof.Ye was rated as National Excellent Teacher, and won the first prize of Zhejiang University Teaching Achievement Award.
